Connolly Statement on Secretary LaHood's Metro Recommendations

Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) released the following statement on reports of Secretary LaHood's Metro recommendations:

"The fact that it is Virginia's suburban compact members and not the state government in Richmond who pay Metro subsidies has been dismissed in Secretary LaHood's report. No one should dictate to them who should represent them on the Metro board. I will oppose any attempt to impose taxation without representation for my constituents just as I have on behalf of those in the District of Columbia."
