Rep. Connolly released the following statement on restoration of the full $150 million federal contribution to Metro in the Omnibus Legislation:

“I am pleased that the Omnibus legislation restores full funding of the federal government’s $150 million contribution to Metro’s ongoing safety and capital improvements. To renege on that commitment would cause a serious ripple effect throughout the region, jeopardizing the matching $150 million from Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. and threatening the progress needed to restore safety and confidence in Metro. The federal government remains the single biggest beneficiary of the Metro system and Congress should be doing more to invest in the transit system serving our nation’s capital.”
