Today, Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA), a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and President Emeritus of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, released the following statement in reaction to calls by Ministers Smotrich and Ben Gvir to resettle Palestinians outside Gaza.

“As I warned in April of 2023, the actions of right-wing extremist Ministers Smotrich and Ben Gvir to bless settler violence, incite violence against Palestinians, and threaten annexation of large portions of the West Bank and now Gaza, amount to pouring gasoline on an open flame. Their latest comments must be condemned, as must any efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza.”
