Connolly Statement on Changes to FBI HQ Site Selection Criteria

Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) released the following statement:

“In February, I said Maryland was trying to cook the books to get the FBI headquarters relocated to their state. Today, I fear I’ve been proven right. This process has been marred by one form of political interference after another. Sadly, GSA has caved to that pressure and such interference has now been rewarded.

Throughout it all, only Virginia has consistently opposed and condemned political meddling in what should be a purely independent, agency-run effort. We will continue to make the case for the only location that truly makes sense for the FBI on the merits – Springfield, Virginia.”
