Today, Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) released the following statement following his selection by Leader Hakeem Jeffries to serve on the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. 

"I am honored to be named by Leader Jeffries to the so-called Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. This committee, deceptively named by Republicans to disguise its true intent, will serve as another arm of the GOP propaganda machine as they seek to undermine legitimate investigations into President Donald Trump and discredit the patriotic men and women who keep our country running as federal employees. My Democratic colleagues on the committee and I will be relentless in standing up to Republican extremists and their pathetic attempts to rewrite history and cast aspersions on our dedicated federal workforce.

Republicans are dusting off their tired, worn out, Obama-era playbook of frivolous 'investigations' and manufactured 'scandals' designed to disguise their own extremism and grind the business of government to a halt. The American people won't be fooled.
