Chairman Connolly to Hold Hearing on Improving State and Local IT Infrastructure After the COVID-19 Pandemic

On Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. ET, Rep. Gerald E. Connolly, the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Government Operations, will hold a hearing entitled “Catalyst for Change:  State and Local IT After the Pandemic.”

State and local governments are on the frontlines of unprecedented events—like the coronavirus pandemic—and provide lifesaving information and services to those in need of help, including health care information and emergency services.  However, outdated IT infrastructure and rising cyberattacks on state and local governments continue to cause significant disruptions to essential services across the United States.

This hearing will explore the role of Congress and the federal government in accelerating IT modernization initiatives for states and localities as they work together to fortify and improve our nation’s public IT infrastructure.
