Connolly Statement on Report OMB Has Finalized Schedule F Changes

Rep. Gerald E. Connolly, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Government Operations, released the following statement on a published report that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has completed its assessment of staff to begin its implementation of the Schedule F executive order:

“This is a shameful and vindictive action from a President who was just fired by the American people. I look forward to working with the incoming Biden administration to reverse this executive order and rebuild the civil service protections President Trump has violated."

According to the report, 88% of the agency’s staff, or 425 employee positions, are on the list for reclassification.

Last month, Connolly introduced the Saving the Civil Service Act, legislation to reverse President Trump’s executive order that would create this new Schedule F designation and remove important civil service protections and make it easier for the Administration to unfairly retaliate against federal employees.
