Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Government Operations, released the following statement regarding today's Supreme Court ruling that delays the House's access to Grand Jury material from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation:

"Today’s ruling weakens the oversight role of the legislative branch for nakedly partisan reasons. Congress must restore its inherent contempt powers and sweep aside the judiciary in carrying out its constitutional responsibilities."
