Today, SEEC Co-Chairs Reps. Gerry Connolly (D-VA), Doris Matsui (D-CA), and Paul Tonko (D-NY) released the following statement applauding Speaker Pelosi’s selection of nine Democratic members, including seven members of SEEC, to serve on the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis:
“We are thrilled that SEEC will be so strongly represented on the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis,” said the Co-Chairs. “The seven appointed SEEC members are committed environmental champions who will bring unparalleled passion and expertise to the panel. We thank Speaker Pelosi for making these appointments, and we look forward to working with the Select Committee to address the climate crisis head-on.” Last month, SEEC leadership sent a letter to Speaker Pelosi and Select Committee Chair Kathy Castor urging them to prioritize placement of SEEC members on the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. The seven SEEC members who will serve on the Select Committee are Reps. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), Julia Brownley (D-CA), Sean Casten (D-IL), Jared Huffman (D-CA), Mike Levin (D-CA), A. Donald McEachin (D-VA), and Joe Neguse (D-CO). |
