Dear Neighbor,
I wanted to send you a reminder that my office is accepting internship applications for the fall semester until August 10th!
Working in a Congressional office can be an incredibly rewarding and exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience and observe first-hand how our government operates. Interns in the Capitol Hill office draft constituent correspondence, attend briefings and Congressional hearings, and prepare memos for me and members of my staff. Interns in the District Office conduct research, assist with constituent casework, and help put together district events.
Hours are flexible and based on candidate’s schedule. This is a paid internship. All interns will receive a $3,000 stipend over the course of their work.
Internships are offered throughout the year on a part-time basis, and priority is given to college-level students from the 11th District. Selection is based on an applicant's general office and other professional experience, interview, and a short writing sample.
You can learn more about interning in my offices and the requirements for an application here.
The application deadline for the fall semester is August 10th. Please email a cover letter, resume, and brief writing sample to the office of your choice – or apply to both!
