I wanted to send you a reminder that my office is accepting internship applications for the spring semester until December 10th! Throughout my Congressional career, I have hosted more than forty classes of interns, each of which has reinforced my faith in the next generation of leaders. In fact, many of my current staff were once interns in my offices themselves.

Working in a Congressional office can be an incredibly rewarding and exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience and observe first-hand how our government operates. Interns in the Capitol Hill office draft constituent correspondence, attend briefings and Congressional hearings, and prepare memos for me and members of my staff. Interns in the District Office conduct research, assist with constituent casework, and help put together district events. Interns in both of my Congressional offices play a vital role in keeping constituents well-informed and adequately represented in Congress.

Our internships are held on a part-time basis, allowing full-time college students the opportunity to participate as fits their schedule. We offer flexible schedules to best suit the candidate's semester plan. This is a paid internship and each intern will receive a $3,000 stipend over the course of the semester.

Priority is given to college-level students from the 11th District. Selection is based on an applicant's general office and other professional experience, interview, and a short writing sample.
