Dear Neighbor,
I write to you today to recognize Public Service Recognition Week and to express my deepest gratitude for the hardworking and dedicated federal employees in our district.
For more than 35 years, Public Service Recognition Week has been celebrated during the first full week of May. This week honors all those who serve our nation at the federal, state, and local levels. It is a time for us to recognize and appreciate the work that they do every day to make our communities and our country a better place to live.
The COVID-19 pandemic has reminded us all of the importance of public service and the critical role that federal employees play in our lives. From doctors and nurses to postal workers and first responders, federal employees have been on the front lines of this crisis, working tirelessly to keep us safe and healthy.
So, to all the federal employees in our district, I want to say thank you. Thank you for your service, your commitment, and your dedication to our community and our country. You are the backbone of our government, and your hard work and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.
During Public Service Recognition Week, let us take a moment to honor and celebrate the contributions of our federal employees. Their service to our country is invaluable, and we are lucky to have them as members of our community.
That's why, this week, I teamed up with Representatives Jamie Raskin, Brian Fitzpatrick, and Kweisi Mfume to introduce a resolution to honor all of our nation's public servants. You can learn more by clicking here.
Please continue to take care of yourselves and each other. As always, if you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact my office at 703-256-3071.
