Dear Neighbor,

Last week, Senate Republicans blocked consideration of the For the People Act, the most comprehensive anti-corruption and election reform legislation that we've seen in a generation.

State legislatures across the country are implementing draconian new voter suppression laws at an alarming pace. Donald Trump and his enablers continue to claim the election was stolen. This Big Lie does nothing but undermine faith in our electoral process. Now, Senate Republicans have blocked legislation that seeks to reverse the damage done by the previous administration's policies, level the playing field, and keep our elections free, fair, and secure.

With a Democratic House, Senate, and White House, we have a once-in-a-generation chance to breathe new life into our democratic institutions. But the filibuster, by requiring a supermajority of 60 Senators to open debate on legislation, has allowed a minority of Senators to block even the most popular policy proposals, like the For the People Act.

Our democracy is at stake and, like you, I believe it is worth saving. So, as we determine the best way to keep up the fight, I want to hear directly from you.
